Founded in 2009, the MBA Veterans Network® is a professional networking and advocacy organization dedicated to connecting military veteran students and alumni of the world’s top-ranked universities with employers who value their elite academic credentials, military leadership abilities, and limitless career potential.
2008 November -
In response to the declining MBA job market caused by the Great Recession, a group of veteran students at 10 of the top-ranked MBA programs in the Midwest, create & host the inaugural MBA Veterans Career Conference. Event has 60 students and 8 employers, including Credit Suisse, P&G, and GE.
2009 August -
Conference organizers establish the MBA Veterans Network, a professional networking organization designed to connect military veteran students and alumni of the top-ranked MBA programs with elite employers and each other.
2009 November -
The MBA Veterans Network hosts it’s first national MBA Veterans Career Conference with 140 veterans representing 39 MBA programs and 15 blue chip employers, including Google & Apple.
2010 February -
MBA Veterans Network launches MBA Veterans Connect, a networking platform for our community, via a feature story in the Wall Street Journal. 500 veterans register in a single day.
2010 October -
P&G CEO Bob McDonald (and Secretary of Veterans Affairs) begins a legacy of military veteran business leader keynote speakers at the Conference that has since included Alex Gorksy, the CEO of J&J, and Don Knauss, the former CEO of the Clorox Company. Conference expands its international reach and welcomes veteran MBA students from London Business School and the Rotman MBA in Toronto.
2012 July -
The MBA Veterans Network launches its MBA Admissions consulting service, designed to connect top tier MBA programs with a broader group of military veteran applicants. The first program partners are Boston College & Notre Dame.
2015 October -
By request, the MBA Veterans Network adds an extra day to the MBA Veterans Career Conference so that the sponsors’ recruiting teams can recruit undergraduate students from the nation’s top-ranked 4-year colleges and universities with military experience at the inaugural UndergraduVets & Cadets Career Conference.
2017 April -
MBA Veterans hosted the inaugural ExecuVets Career Conference on April 29, 2017. After nearly 10 years of operations, this was the nation’s first military hiring conference specifically for veterans with years’ of proven business experience
2017 October -
In addition to reaching it’s 10-year milestone with the MBA Veterans Career Conference, the organization launched the TransitionVets Summit, a brand-new event designed to help transitioning officers and NCO’s explore post-military careers and grad school opportunities while expanding their professional networks
Prior to co-founding & serving as the MBA Veterans Network’s COO, Dave spent 4 years at Boston Scientific as a materials engineer and served for 5+ years as a US Army Engineer in the US, Iraq, & Germany.
David earned an MBA and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Military Academy
Prior to co-founding & serving as the MBA Veterans Network’s CMO, Chris spent 5 years at Procter & Gamble as a Brand Manager, a year as a policy and operations advisor to the Governor of Illinois and served for 4.5 years as a US Army Transportation Corps officer in various assignments in the US and overseas.
Chris earned an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Master of International Relations from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand and a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College.
